Most recently, she served as chair of ACVB’s restaurant committee. In 2011, Atlanta’s hospitality industry recognized Oswald by inducting her into the Atlanta Hospitality Hall of Fame.

Her passion for the restaurant industry began at the award-winning Commander’s Palace in New Orleans where she oversaw the restaurant’s sales and marketing department and managed the company’s in-house advertising agency. She later worked for Atlanta’s Liberty House Restaurant Corporation, directing the advertising, public relations and promotional strategies for the company’s four restaurant concepts, which included iconic Atlanta restaurants such as Bone’s Restaurant and the OK Cafe.

In 1990, Nancy and her husband, Mark Oswald, joined forces with the Brooks brothers as owners of the Ruth’s Chris restaurant in Buckhead. In just over 20 years, the franchise has grown to include four Atlanta locations, two in Alabama, three in South Carolina and two additional restaurants currently in development in Chattanooga, TN and Charleston, SC.

Oswald puts to work her 30 years of restaurant experience, a B.A. in communications from the University of Virginia and a Doctorate of Foodservice (DFS) from the North American Association of Food and Equipment Manufacturers to oversee the marketing, advertising and public relations for the franchise. Ruth’s Chris Steak House founder, Ruth Fertel, believed in serving the highest quality food with exceptional service in a warm and inviting atmosphere.
