Financial Assistance Case Manager
China was born and raised in Albany, Georgia and has called Decatur their home since 2017. Having worked as a server, line cook, and bartender in the Atlanta Metro Area, China understands the challenges Giving Kitchen’s clients regularly encounter and is excited for the opportunity to assist the community. After ending a career as a craft beer bartender during the Covid-19 pandemic, China decided to feed their passion of assisting others in need, pivoting to a career in social services.
Before their time at Giving Kitchen, China directly assisted refugee and immigrant families adjust to their lives in the US during the Covid-19 Pandemic through Atlanta’s refugee resettlement agencies. China cultivated a desire to connect others to resources and provide trauma informed care to clients when they need it most.
When China is not working or volunteering, they are taking a drive to clear waters and dispersed camping to get away from it all, while listening to great music. At home, they enjoy life on the east side with their partner, two crazy cats, and the “goodest dog ever” - Bijou Marie.
