Disaster Relief
Moments like these are when people need to not feel alone. That’s why Giving Kitchen’s Stability Network exists: to offer warm connections to community resources in an immediate time of need.
Our Stability Network is working tirelessly to connect food service workers in crisis to resources in their area that are serving critical basic needs first, like our friends at World Central Kitchen on the ground helping to stabilize the water situation and providing meals. We’re also connecting them to food, shelter, and benefits emergency resources.
Once our clients are safe, case managers can then help them focus on the next steps toward long-term stability and safety. And, as always, we will be here to help walk any qualifying client through the financial assistance application process when they are ready for us.
If you are looking for a way to support those affected by the recent disasters, you can make a donation to Giving Kitchen to help fund the need in our mission to support food service workers.
Housing damage
If your home has sustained structural damage and has been deemed uninhabitable by FEMA or your insurance company, please submit an application here along with your documentation from FEMA/insurance once you have secured permanent housing.
If you have not begun the application process with FEMA, you can start that here.
You do not have to do this alone. Project Porchlight is available for free to all families and individuals living in a county where federal or state-declared disaster has occurred. Working with a certified counselor, you’ll create a personalized recovery plan. You’ll also receive ongoing support and assistance in completing applications for FEMA aid and submitting relevant insurance claims. They’ll help you apply and help you stick with it.
