In Dr. Sandra’s own words, a Heartfelt Thank You to Giving Kitchen

Words are inadequate to express the depth of my gratitude to the Giving Kitchen, an organization whose compassion, care, and humanity shine brightly in a world where such qualities often feel rare. My encounter with your remarkable team came at one of the lowest and most difficult points in my life, and your intervention has been nothing short of life-saving for me and my young family.

My family and I were involved in a ghastly auto accident in Round Rock, Texas, which left my vehicle a total loss. It was a traumatic event that nearly claimed our lives. Adding to the burden was the painful discovery that my car insurance, despite my diligent payments for over five years, denied coverage due to an unforeseen lapse.

Life became a whirlwind of recovery—physical, emotional, and financial. 

My food business, Mgbeke Village Hut, came to a halt as I dedicated myself to caring for my injured sons, aged 8 and 12, and to my own recovery. The challenges were immense, and hopelessness loomed as our rent and utility bills began to pile up. In the middle of that despair, Giving Kitchen became a beacon of hope.

I found your organization through findhelp.org, and from the very first contact, I knew I had encountered something extraordinary. Your case managers were compassionate, understanding, and proactive, displaying an empathy that is so rare. They not only listened to my story but also acted swiftly, providing the financial assistance that saved my family from homelessness.

The support you gave us went far beyond monetary help—it restored my hope and lifted the weight of despair. Despite all my challenges, including my son’s ongoing health issues that prevent me from returning to work until March 2025, your intervention has made our lives bearable.

 I am deeply moved by your mission and your firm commitment to serving food service workers like myself. Your assistance came at a time when no other organization stepped in, and for that, you have my eternal gratitude. Because of Giving Kitchen, my family has been able to focus on healing instead of drowning in overwhelming financial stress.
