Giving Kitchen Partners With Unite Us To Expand Stability Network

Giving Kitchen (GK), a nonprofit that provides emergency assistance to food-service workers through financial support and a network of community resources, is partnering with Unite Us, the nation’s leading technology company connecting health and social care services, to join a coordinated care network that addresses the unmet needs of food-service workers and their families across the nation.

Unite Us powers a secure, coordinated care network for health and social care providers, and community-based partners can work across sectors to identify the needs of individuals—such as food insecurities—and connect them to appropriate resources. This partnership will expand GK’s Stability Network, a referral program that connects food-service workers to low- or no-cost community resources. Referral categories include housing and utilities, health and wellness, employment, mental health, and substance misuse.

The case management team differentiates GK’s Stability Network from other referral programs. Stability Network case managers work closely with clients to find resources that fit their specific needs, and often provide direct referrals that give clients access to services that aren’t available otherwise, or may be significantly more expensive without a referral from GK.

The Stability Network provides more holistic care to food-service workers in crisis. Now, the partnership between GK and Unite Us widens the network of resources for food-service workers, and allows GK case managers to monitor the value and efficacy of Stability Network partnerships for our clients.

“Our partnership with Unite Us is an important first step towards Giving Kitchen’s vision of regional and national assistance for food-service workers in crisis,” said Bryan Schroeder, Giving Kitchen Executive Director. “When we tell our story, Unite Us can connect us to appropriate resources in that community and get the client the help they need when needed,” added Schroeder.

Together, GK and Unite Us will be able to securely connect people in need with community-based resources that can otherwise be difficult to navigate. Unite Us provides a central hub where healthcare providers, social service organizations, and individuals can securely access and refer people to needed services while monitoring progress and measuring outcomes.

“Our partnership with Unite Us has expanded our library of resources significantly, especially in rural areas. With this greater reach, we are better poised to support food-service workers regionally and nationally,” said Senior Stability Network Manager Kaitlynn Mockett.

“Giving Kitchen’s mission aligns with Unite Us’ goals, as we collectively focus on ensuring that everyone has access to the services they need when they need them,” said Adrienne Sherk, Unite Us’ Senior Director of Community-Based Organization Partnerships. “Through this new partnership, Giving Kitchen can now reach more food-service workers across the country by utilizing Unite Us to coordinate care and track programmatic outcomes,” she added.
