Jerry Lanuzza on the Impact of Giving Kitchen in Charlotte
Unfortunately, many in food service still must work multiple jobs to make ends meet, and most do not have a safety net of money or resources to help them through a personal tragedy that prevents them from working.
Jerry Lanuzza, Giving Kitchen Charlotte Community Engagement Council Member, and a proud member of the food service industry, loves Charlotte, and has been struck by Charlotte’s generosity and support of so many groups and organizations that help the citizens and immigrants. As a former country club chef and, for many years, a food service educator, Jerry is very proud to be a supporter of Giving Kitchen, a not-for-profit organization whose goal and motto is: “We help food service workers.”
“In the spirit of southern hospitality, Charlotte has a record of strong community support,” said, Jerry Lanuzza, Associate Dean of College of Food, Innovation, & Technology at Johnson & Wales University, Charlotte Campus. “With Giving Kitchen as our neighbor, those who in work in food service in the Queen City can feel more at ease to know that there is an organization for them, too. Giving Kitchen helps food service workers. I hope that they can count on your help, too.”
Giving Kitchen provides emergency assistance for food service workers through financial support and a network of community resources. And we asking today will you join Jerry in helping Giving Kitchen?
Giving Kitchen has a dedicated team that helps food service workers connect with resources that may prevent them from having their utilities turned off due to lack of payment, can aid with rent or mortgage payment(s) that can help prevent an employee from becoming displaced from their home, or may be able to provide locations where one could get discounted or free medical care — in addition to many other resources.
