“Giving Kitchen gives blessings. Asking for help from Giving Kitchen was very simple. I would say that I had nothing but friendly and helpful support from Giving Kitchen’s case management team. I have referred several coworkers and friends to their resources.”

Our region and specifically the small town where I live and work experienced substantial devastation from Hurricane Helene in September.

We had damages in our home, to our vehicles, and lost all household income for an undetermined time. We were unsure how we would recover without income, so I reached out to Giving Kitchen for assistance. We are slowly returning to normal after 6 weeks, working on repairing damages and returning to work a few days a week as my place of employment also is working on repair.

There is still long road to recovery for my town and employer as we move into the slower season until tourism picks back up.

GK's grant assistance helped reduce stress as we navigated the different government agencies for help. GK was the easiest and fastest support that I received.

Without that help, we would have had late payments and fears of losing our home on top of all the other stresses we were dealing with.

Giving Kitchen helped me cover my share of the mortgage payment and electric bill for the month. I'm doing much better now. Although like I said earlier, it will be a long road to complete recovery and return to full employment and income.

Receiving the grant from Giving Kitchen helped stabilize our household so we could take care of our needs. Reducing stress and helping us to move forward in the recovery process.
