Wendy Bohannon

Signature Events Producer

A native Atlantan, Wendy has over 15 years of culinary event planning and promotion experience and is honored to serve on the Giving Kitchen team as the Signature Events Producer.  Wendy’s first job at the age of 16 was in a restaurant before working at a local, family-owned farmer’s market through most of high school. While attending the University of Georgia, she worked various jobs (including a couple of restaurants) in Athens before graduating with a BSEd in Early Childhood Education. Wendy taught little ones for a while before realizing she was cut out for something different.  Her love for food, hospitality and learning led her to volunteer as a chef assistant at The Cook’s Warehouse, where she later became cooking school director for 10+ years.  She then went on to Taste of Atlanta, serving as Director of Events for 4 ½ years, overseeing their large-scale food festivals. Having partnered with Giving Kitchen for years in her food-related jobs around Atlanta, she was very familiar with the organization and the mission.  The growth and expansion at GK provided the perfect opportunity where her passion and experience would allow her to become part of the GK team and give back to the industry and community she loves.

Wendy is a proud member of Les Dames d’Escoffier International and is on the board as well as serving on various committees.  She is also a member of IACP - International Association of Culinary Professionals.

In her spare time, Wendy enjoys curling up with a good book or a puzzle, cooking for friends and family, cheering on her favorite sports teams (Go Braves! Go Dawgs!), traveling and exploring the local food and beverage scene wherever she is, relishing a slower pace in the mountains or near a body of water, and is in continual pursuit of her next favorite hard cider.  Wendy lives in Marietta with her grill master husband Bruce and their ridiculously spoiled cat Buggy.
