Anita Hsu Sees Our Impact First-Hand

Anita Hsu has seen firsthand the work and impact of Giving Kitchen’s mission as both a member of Giving Kitchen’s Community Engagement Council, and co-owner of Lazy Betty, Sweet Auburn BBQ, Tio Lucho’s, and Gezzo’s,

Giving Kitchen has helped several of her team members. Her pastry chef received financial assistance when he had a heart attack while baking a chocolate cake at Sweet Auburn BBQ. He needed funds to pay his bills during his recovery. Even though her team all pitched in and started a GoFundMe page, it still was not enough. Giving Kitchen stepped in and helped.

When we dine at a restaurant, it's often because we are celebrating a special moment in life.  Restaurant workers are essential because they help fill our bellies with nourishment, but they also help create those cherished memories. Anita gives to Giving Kitchen because they help food service workers in times of crisis, and it's her honor and responsibility to give back to them. Will you give to support food service workers?

“I can't put a dollar amount to the peace of mind, feeling of support, and kindness that Giving Kitchen provides to the hard-working essential workers in restaurants and other food service establishments,” said Anita Hsu, Giving Kitchen Community Engagement Council Member. “What I can tell you is that your donation of just $50 can cover a water bill for a food service worker in crisis; $1,000 can keep a food service worker and their family in their home by paying their monthly rent or mortgage bill.”

The well-being of her work family extends beyond the walls of our restaurants. When an employee or co-worker suffers from an illness, family emergency, or an unforeseen accident, Anita finds comfort in knowing that she can send them to Giving Kitchen for support, resources, and guidance. She is proud to be part of Atlanta's thriving restaurant community and supporting them makes her heart feel whole.
